Alice Hill,

Executive Director

Alice joined the Foundation in 2014 and is a skilled leader in the nonprofit and philanthropic sectors with 25 years of experience. Alice has worked with a wide spectrum of foundations – both domestic and international – on strategy development, program and grants management, governance, capacity building, and evaluation.

Alice has extensive experience working with nonprofits of all sizes to strengthen their organizational capacity and build long-term sustainability. She has served in leadership positions at a number of organizations, including the philanthropic consulting firm TCC Group in New York, the Eurasia Foundation in Washington, D.C., and the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation in Moscow.

Alice graduated cum laude from Indiana University with a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and Slavic Languages and Literature. She received a Master’s degree in International Relations and Economics from the School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) at Johns Hopkins University.

Mary Karen Lynn-Klimenko

Senior Advisor 

Mary Karen served as the previous Executive Director of Stevens Square Foundation and now serves as Senior Advisor. She is also President of Private Philanthropy Services (PPS), which she founded over ten years ago with the vision of a professional team that would work together to share learnings, impactful ideas, and best practices in support of small- and medium-sized foundations. Over the past ten years, PPS has provided on-going and short-term support to dozens of foundations.

Mary Karen has worked in the nonprofit field for more than 30 years, and has provided leadership and consultant services to philanthropic organizations locally, nationally and internationally for the past 17 years. She currently serves as Program and Board Consultant to the O’Shaughnessy Family Foundation and their generational transition programs, Grants Program Manager of the Laura Jane Musser Fund, and Senior Advisor to Stevens Square Foundation.

Mary Karen graduated from Northwestern University with a BA in History and Economics, and served in the Peace Corps in Tunisia.
